Will Blue Jays rally to earn wild card berth?

Time is running out.

The Blue Jays suffered an 8-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. While the Orioles celebrated their first AL East division title in 17 years, the Blue Jays are at the mercy of a numbers game.

This is how the AL wild card race currently stands.

The Jays only have 12 games remaining to make one final push.

The problem remains the performance of the team.

The Jays have lost four of their last five games.

After Wednesday night's game against the Orioles, they travel to New York for a four-game series with the Yankees, then come home to play four games against Seattle before finishing off their regular season at Rogers Centre with three games against the newly crowned AL East champion Orioles.

The odds are against Toronto making the playoffs for the first time since its 1993 World Series season.

Still, the team has a chance, however remote that seems to be getting with each passing day. Besides, other teams have come back in the past, facing dimmer scenarios than Toronto finds itself in.
