Marcus Stroman says he will throw even harder and come back stronger from his season-ending knee injury.

The 23-year-old Blue Jays right-hander tore his left anterior cruciate ligament fielding bunts during a pitchers' drill Tuesday.

Stroman said initially it was hard to keep it together. But he said he talked to his family and got calls of support from all over the league.

But fan reaction in Toronto has been melancholy, to say the least.

"I feel like people are worrying a bit too much," Stroman said. "People are worrying a bit more than I am."

The Toronto pitcher said the injury happened on a routine play. No one was to blame.

"It's a devastating blow," said Jays' pitcher Aaron Sanchez. "We've got to come together as a team and move on."

Stroman says he has big dreams for 2016.

"We have enough talent to be able to get through this," Stroman added.
